I am a belly dance performer, instructor, and choreographer with a joy for dance that I love to share. I am the winner of the 2018 Hot Raqs Bellydance Competition in the Professional Cabaret Soloist Category. My teacher is Alexandra King, one of the artistic innovators that brought belly dance into American culture. I have been studying recently with Zahra Zuhair, a legendary dancer and luminary instructor of Egyptian-style Bellydance. Other notable dancers that I have studied with include Sahra Sa’eeda, Sadie Marquardt, Jillina Carlano, Aziza, Mercedes Nieto, and Randa Kamel. I danced with Alexandra King's dance troupe, Seher, from 2009 to 2012, and performed with the University of California, Santa Barbara Middle East Ensemble (MEE). I traveled with the MEE to Egypt in 2010, where we performed at the Cairo Opera House, Cairo University, and Cairo Library, and toured neighboring cities in the Nile Delta (Ismailia, Beni Suef, and Helwan). I also lived in Spain for a year and studied flamenco with master bailaora, Chua Alba. I specialize in modern and classical American Cabaret belly dance. Although my heritage is not Middle Eastern, I have a special place in my heart for Middle Eastern music, dance, and culture. I dance with musicality, personality, and grace, and if you book me for your event, everyone will be on their feet dancing.
